The Australian Renderers Association (ARA) announces a significant leadership transition as Tim Juzefowicz steps down from his role as Executive Officer, passing the torch to Jess Bloomfield, who will now lead the ARA as the new Executive Officer. Tim, after an esteemed career in the rendering industry, will continue to support the association in the role as Technical Officer
Tim Juzefowicz: A Legacy of Excellence and Service
Tim’s journey within the rendering industry spans 27 years, marked by significant contributions across various technical and leadership roles. With a Bachelor of Science in Applied Chemistry and a Master of Engineering in Quality Management, Tim’s expertise has been instrumental in shaping the future of rendering in Australia. He held senior technical positions with Peerless Holdings Pty Ltd, Baiada Proteins Pty Ltd, and CSF Proteins Pty Ltd, bringing invaluable knowledge to the sector.
Tim’s involvement with the ARA began in 2000 when he joined as a Director. Over the years, he has held multiple leadership roles, including Vice-President and Non-executive Technical Director. His work extended internationally, serving as President of the World Renderers Organisation (WRO) from 2015 to 2017 and as a member of its Scientific Advisory Panel.
Tim has made significant contributions to the ARA’s strategic initiatives, such as representing the industry in discussions on the Carbon Tax, organising the ARA Symposium, and engaging in regulatory reviews. His achievements were recognised in 2013 when he received the ‘ARA Ron Lyon’ award for service to the industry. As he steps into the Technical Officer role, Tim will continue to provide his expertise to the ARA and its members.
Reflecting on his career, Tim stated, “It’s the people who make a difference.”
Jess Bloomfield: An Era of New Leadership
Jess Bloomfield, the ARA’s new Executive Officer, brings fresh energy and a wealth of experience to her role. Jess’s career began with a Bachelor of Science in Animal Production from CSU in Wagga, followed by mustering Stanbroke cattle in Far North Queensland and pen riding in a Canadian feedlot. She has worked as a Ruminant Nutrition Consultant and served as Executive Officer for the Australian Association of Ruminant Nutritionists.
Joining the ARA in 2021 as Symposium Coordinator and Executive Assistant, Jess has quickly made her mark. Her dedication, strong industry relationships, and passion for advancing the rendering sector have earned her the trust of the ARA Board and its members.
Jess said of her new appointment: “It’s an honour to be entrusted with the responsibility to lead this organisation, and I want to thank the ARA Board, Tim, and Dennis, for being my champions. From my first General Meeting in Adelaide, I felt an instant connection to the group and a sense of belonging. I am excited to embark on this journey, and I look forward to working together to advance the rendering industry, support our members, and be a strong voice to ensure our views are represented on key issues.”
As Executive Officer, Jess is committed to building on the strong relationships she has already developed with industry stakeholders, government departments, and ARA members. Her leadership marks a new chapter for the ARA, with a focus on continued growth, collaboration, and innovation within the rendering industry.
